Apple Business is Here
I’ve spent a significant part of my time at Apple working on enterprise solutions for businesses and schools. On April 14th, Apple Business officially went live.
What is Apple Business?
Apple Business is a unified platform that brings together everything a business needs to manage their Apple ecosystem in one place. Instead of juggling multiple tools and portals, organizations now have a single destination for:
- Device and team management. Zero-touch deployment, app distribution, and built-in device management.
- Communication tools. Professional email with custom company domains, business calendars, and a company directory.
- Data and security. iCloud storage, automatic backup and sync, and enterprise-grade security protections.
- Customer reach. Claim your business location on Apple Maps, build your brand presence, and set up custom actions for reservations and more.
- Support. Access to expert technical support and AppleCare+ for Business plans.
Why this matters
If you’ve ever managed Apple devices at scale, you know the pain of coordinating across multiple systems. Apple Business simplifies that entire experience. Whether you’re a small business setting up your first fleet of devices or a large enterprise managing thousands, the goal is the same: make it seamless.
My experience
I owned multiple areas across the product line as a Staff Engineer. A big part of the role was writing architectural design docs, getting buy-in from stakeholders, and driving cross-functional alignment across engineering, product, and design teams. At this level, the technical decisions are only half the job. The other half is making sure everyone is on the same page and moving in the same direction.
The biggest lesson for me was that influence and communication are what actually move large projects forward. You can have the best technical solution, but if you can’t get people aligned on it, it doesn’t matter. Delivering a product of this scale without disrupting existing customers was a challenge I’m proud of. It required careful planning, incremental rollouts, and a lot of coordination to make sure nothing broke along the way.
What’s next
This is just the beginning. We’re continuing to build and improve the platform. If you’re interested, check it out at business.apple.com.
